Patricia Mavis Kimpe (Nee: Loberg)
April 13, 1944 – March 10, 2017
Pat passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home with her husband Leo by her side. She was born in Sexsmith, the fifth child of Paul and Olga Loberg and was raised on a farm west of Valhalla Center. Pat married Leo Kimpe and settled east of Grande Prairie where they raised their four children. They recently relocated to Valhalla where they appreciated the beauty and the peace of the land where she was raised.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Pat will be fondly remembered for her steadfast faith, her gentle nature and quick wit. She celebrated her Norwegian heritage with great pride and the Christmas meal was always the highlight of our year. Pat loved to watch things grow and spent many happy hours tending her garden. She loved nature and had an eye for capturing its beauty in photographs. Her artistic ability and patience can be seen in her knitting and crochet and her musical talents were enjoyed by many.
Pat surrounded herself with the people she loved and honored them with her compassion and selfless generosity.
She is survived by her loving husband Leo, their son, Kevin (Shannon), their daughters, Karmen (John Patrick), Kristine, and Kimberly (James McFarlane) as well as their grandchildren Evan (Danni), Karey (Bryce), Taylor, Mya, Hannah, and Lucas. Also left to mourn are her sister Aimee (Paul), brothers Ole (Marg) and Carmen (Linda), brother-in-law, Lou, sisters-in-law Emily, Joyce and Martha, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Pauline, her niece Carol, her brother Gerry, her brothers- in-law Victor, Ed, and Bob and sisters-in-law Margaret and Elizabeth.
