My name is Carrie Burgess. I have lived across the street from Cathy since we moved to O'Brien Lake in 2009. I am so very, very sorry to hear that you have lost her!
Cathy was the best of neighbours! We had many neighbourhood chats over the years with her and also with her Mother. Theirs was a senior/caregiving daughter relationship which was an example for all of us.
There wasn't much Cathy chose not to share during our visits, be it some great advice about some mal-functioning yard equipment - very often the fix actually happened under her hands, a very welcome piece of her gardening wisdom, or her words of concern and comfort in times of loss. Sometimes we simply laughed and solved all the world's problems. We received more than one well-after-dark and much appreciated phone call to hear her say, "girls, your garage door is up."
The "pristine" manicure of her yard is the kind everyone should attempt. As I now tend to ours, I will miss being able to think, "I'll just ask Cathy." I
You will be missing her! I wish you all the peace and comfort you need in the days ahead. Your memories of Cathy will become only more preicous as time goes by. The love we share with those dear to us never dies. Cathy will be with you always!
Please take care and stay safe.
My Very Kindest, Warmest Regards,
