Obituary For Barbara Ann Buck (Brososky)

It is with Great Sadness that Barbara’s children announce the unexpected passing of their beloved Mother.Barbara and Lloyd Buck had nine children, they moved to the White Mountain area in the early 60’s on to the home quarter owned previously by Lloyd’s grandparents and parents. This is where Mom taught us how to clean, cook, do laundry (only one way to do laundry, the right way), bake, garden and make something from nothing, Dad’s job was to teach the boys about the hard laborious job of caring for animals and everything farming, back then boys didn’t do dishes or sweep floors! Mom was a gifted seamstress and very good cook, when it came to baking cookies and doughnuts they were made by the hundreds it seemed. With all of those mouths to feed it was necessary. Mom milked her Holstein’s every day and the cream was sold to the local dairy. This helped to buy the extras. After the youngest child started school Mom began to work off the farm, she worked at the McLeod’s Store in Spirit River, in 1976 Mom started her 23 year career with Alberta Hail and Crop Insurance Corporation later called AFSC. Mom retired from AFSC in 1999.Mom met Rod Graham and together they built a life together in the Blueberry Mountain area that lasted for 25 years until Poppa Rod’s passing in 2014. Mom ran for council in Saddle Hills County and spent 12 years dedicating herself to that role. Mom was very proud of roads that were built and many projects that she was part of with her fellow Reeves and councilors, she found the processes and challenges rewarding. Mom was able to take part in conferences in different parts of Canada, Montreal City being one of her favorites. Time was dedicated to the Blueberry Mountain Hall, Spirit River Library Board, Spirit of Peace United Church, in addition were boards through her work with Saddle Hills County. Mom was very grateful for her opportunities to volunteer. When Rod’s health declined there was no option but to move to a Seniors Center for some extra help and care for Rod. Barbara is survived by her children: Marilyn (Rick) Seaman, Ward (Carmen) Buck, Shelley (Rick) Rozecki, Cameron (Melissa) Buck, Bryan (Lori) Buck, Terry Buck, Derek Buck, Lloyd Buck aka G-pa, 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Siblings: Wayne Brososky, Linda Grant, Pat Brososky , Karen Berrecloth, Geri Dugas and Jan Brososky. Immediate Family: Barbara was predeceased by her two infant sons Randal Owen and Wayne Kent, parents Joseph and Edith Brososky (Olson), Husband Rod Graham, Son in Law Clayton White and Daughter in Law Shawna Manning. At this time the Family of Barbara have decided to have a Service in July 2023 when her family and friends can attend and celebrate her life with a Service and fellowship. In lieu of flowers – the family would appreciate donations to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation, a local foodbank or cause of one’s choice. Mom always gave more than she could afford to people she felt needed it the most.
