Obituary For Donald Allan Madu

On October 19, 2023, with his family by his side, Donald Allan Madu, loving father, brother, uncle, and friend left us to go be an outlaw in the sky.

Don, “Donny”, was born to Olga and John Madu on June 27, 1950, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. In the 1970’s Don moved to Woking and Grande Prairie area where he loved, worked, and raised his family. Don worked for a few companies in the area, most memorable being Northern Metallic and Nighhawk Vac Services. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Those that were blessed to know him were always entertained by his quick wit and enthusiasm for living. There was nothing that Don wouldn’t do for his family or friends. Often his friends were also his family. His beloved daughters, Sheri-Ann and Tracy were the rain and sunshine that made his rainbow. When his grandchildren and great grand child came along, he was overjoyed with the love that they brought to his life.

Don’s best friend was his big brother Ken. Don and Ken had many adventures together. There are endless Don and Ken stories of their antics. They loved Costa Rica and as such “What happens in Costa Rica, stays in Costa Rica!”, became their mantra. (There may be rumours of “yoga” on the beach.) Together they watched football and entertained the many family and friends. Ken will forever miss his partner in crime.

Predeceased by his parents John and Olga, sister Mildred Baron, nephews Cory Madu, Rick Baron, and Jesse McCorkle and Ron Lepoidvin his brother from another mother.

Left behind to cherish Don is his ex-wife and friend Pam McCorkle, the mother of his daughters Sheri-Ann Madu (John Berg) and Tracy Weicht, grandchildren Kingsley Barrington (Brody), Connor Weicht, Shelby Weicht, and Keyana “Boo” Berg, and great grandson Beckham Barrington, brother and best friend Ken Madu. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends (you all know who you are).

I am as bad as the worst, but, thank God, I am as good as the best.”
