Obituary For Donald Gordon Mates

The family of Donald Gordon Mates announces his peaceful passing in Grande Prairie surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the age of 72 years.

Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Mates, his son Bradley Lydell Mates (Jana) and their children Tyler and Kensley, his daughter Amber Dawn Martineau (Danny) and their children Abby and Ethan.

    All my Condolences. One of my memories, playing fastball at Laglace we were getting beat real bad, Don said if we pull this one out of the fire, I will buy the beer. We ended up winning the game and we had Don buy the first round in the Sexsmith Hotel!

    Sorry to read of the passing of Don. A gentle wonderful man. I first met him when he play in the band that played at our wedding almost 50 yr ago. Rest in Peace Don 🥲
