Obituary For Elsie Evelyne Norton (nee Holmen)

August 31, 1934 – September 25, 2023

Elsie was born and raised in Valleyview. She met and married Ed Norton and had 4 children. Elsie was an avid curler in the winters and went to provincials twice, she had many fun weekends Bonspieling with friends. In the summers, she loved to spend time at the Sturgeon Lake cabin and later years at the Wapiti River cabin. She later took up golf and that became a passion of hers. She was a stay-at-home Mom until years when she worked at Eve Fashions then Blue Cross and lastly Dr. Richard Walker Optometry.

She was pre-deceased by all of her siblings; Myrtle, Ruby, Verna, Grace, Arnold and Wayne, her parents Clara and Gustav, her son Murray and his wife Marilyn.

Left to mourn are her children Dale, Diane (Dave), Barry (Shelly), 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Rest in peace Mom/Nana.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.

Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742 bcfh.ca

Dear Grandma, I will deeply miss your warm hugs and cherished moments of sharing recipes with you. Your baking skills were truly remarkable, just like your beauty, inside and out. I hope you've found a peaceful place surrounded by love. You gave so much love and asked for so little in return. Even when others let you down, you remained a pillar of strength and support. Your incredible spirit will be etched in my memories forever. With love and fond memories, Paige and Elise
