It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Babe LaTrace. He passed peacefully at home in Beaverlodge, surrounded by his loving family.

Babe was born in Tisdale, Sk., and was the last surviving child of George Nelson LaTrace and Lily Saunders. He met and married his wife Fay LaTrace (nee Armstrong) in Fort St. John, BC., and they had four children together. Babe worked in the Oilfield most of his life, travelled around the world with his family, and was a very proud Albertan and Canadian. They eventually settled back in the Peace Country and found Beaverlodge, AB to be a community they could call home.

Babe is survived by his 4 children (Kellaine, Ervin, Diana, and Michelle), 8 grandchildren (Nicole, Michael, Chandra, Loni, Krysta, Christopher, Jaymie, and Karli), 16 great grandchildren (Cody, Kayla-Anne, Sarah, Madlyn, Emma, Eryn, Jacob, Ryder, Mathew, Braden, Oaklyn, Brody, Karisa, Drew, Finley, Jett, and a new grandbaby girl, Love), on the way, numerous nieces and nephews, plus many family friends.

Babe was pre-deceased by both his parents, all of his 3 brothers and all of his 3 sisters, his loving wife of 45 years, a niece, several nephews, and many long-time friends.

A Gathering of friends will be determined at a later date and place.

Babe’s last wishes were to be cremated and to rest eternally with his wife.
