Obituary For Everette Sheldon Gouchey
It is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce the sudden passing of our baby brother Everette Sheldon Gouchey on July 1st, 2021 at the age of 48 years old.
Everette “Against the Wind” described himself as a man with a generous heart. A devout human being his entire life, he was born August 17, 1972 to Thomas and Denise Gouchey in Valleyview, Alberta. He Graduated from Portage college in Lac La Biche in 1999 with a certificate in power engineering. Everette was a devoted employee “With a smile 😊”, an avid outdoorsman. He worked as a carnie for the West Coast Amusements for many years, where he travelled to numerous places. His next passion for employment was fire fighting for Alberta Sustainable Resources. However, his “Number One” start to finish work ethic was pipelining where he worked for several companies, such as: Surerus Murphy, Doran Stewart Oilfield Services and Pasco Energy Services. He enjoyed his artistic talents with his Indigenous beadwork and drawings. Everette was also a problem-solver who often took a difficult and unwanted projects at work and around the house, He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
Everette is survived by his siblings Pat (Sandra), Emma, Alfred (Bev), Verline, Rebecca (Gary), Kathleen, Wilma (Albert), Cheryl, Melvin, Judy; his stepdaughter Destiny Joachim and his godson Brenner Gouchey.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Denise Gouchey, his sister Evelyn and stepson John Mitchell.
