Frans Sluymers, formerly of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away on November 2, 2023, with his family close by.

Frans was born in Holland May 11, 1942, and immigrated to Canada at the age of 12 years - He lived his 81 years to the fullest. Frans had many passions and hobbies that he immersed himself in. He was well known for raising birds, dogs, and horses over the years. He was also known for his love and passion for motorcycles. He rode enduro bike races in his younger years, and always rode a Harley until his health no longer allowed him.

Frans is survived by his daughter, Maxine and her husband Kerry, his son Rick, his granddaughter Tiffany, grandsons Sean and Jade, and great grandchildren, Scarlett, Lennon, Sterling, and River as well as many nieces and nephews.

Frans was predeceased by his parents and seven siblings.

There will be a Memorial Ride to celebrate the life of Frans and to spread his ashes in the summer, with a small gathering to follow.
