Obituary For Gerald Bruce Kary

Gerald was born August 16, 1934 to Matt & Fern Kary in Carbon, AB. He had two older siblings Bella May and Roy and one younger sibling Donald.

He attended Carbon School until Easter of his Grade 12 year, when he quit. He worked as a mechanic for various garages in Carbon and got his mechanic’s ticket from SAIT. He met the love of his life, Jennette Hecktor and they were married on August 7, 1959. This union produced three daughters Sherry, Deanna and Glenda.

Gerald is survived by his daughters Sherry Lyczewski (Darryl), Deanna Robson, Glenda Burnett (Peter), his grandchildren Kurtis (Kellie) and Kailey Lyczewski, Larry, Robert and Michael (Emma) Sheehan, Christine Potter and Melissa (Dustin) Ford, his great grandchildren Natalee, Emma Johnson and Aria McLauchlin-Lyczewski, Beau Lyczewski, Julian Provencher, Osten Campbell, Holden and Lawson Sheehan, Liam and Nora Potter, Lucina and Isabella Ford, his brother Roy Kary of Mannville, AB, his special friend Eleanor Wood and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Matt and Fern Kary, his wife Jennette Kary, his brother Donald Kary, his sister-in-laws Sandi Kary and Justina Kary, his sister Bella May Kary, his son-in-law Brian Robson, and his niece Marie Barr.

A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at 1:00PM at the Grande Prairie Legion #54 (9912 101 Avenue). A gathering of family and friends/Burial to follow this spring in Carbon, AB.

Memorial donations may be made in Gerald’s memory to the Grande Prairie Legion #54 (9912 101 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta T8V 0X8).
