Obituary For Jack Douglas Likes

February 1, 1951 – September 29, 2023

We are heartbroken to have given our last kiss goodnight to my husband, and our dad Jack Likes on September 29, 2023.

Jack Douglas Likes was born in Fairview, Alberta, on February 2, 1951, to Melvin and Jean Likes. Before starting school, the family moved to Fort St. John where jack spent his childhood and school years. During his teenager years, he and a good friend just up and ventured off into the Untied States, ending up in Oklahoma. There, they thought they would so gallantly join the army, only to be told they were too young and were sent home. The two teens found themselves in Southern Alberta, working their way home where they then headed North, finding work in Cassiar, BC.

Soon after returning home to Fort St. John, he met and married Delana Hampton and together they had two daughters- Jadia and Desi. Jack spent many years in the oil and gas industry in and around Fort St, John, Fort Nelson, and even a few years in Libya.

Jack and Delana retired in Hope, BC, where his love of riding his Harley became an any day and everyday with his biker brothers. Many happy fun days were spent with the riders and families.

When not riding, it was all about building beer with what he called “world class Hope water”. He enjoyed his time perfecting his brew in his meticulous complete setup. Hand built wooden cases of “beer cheers” for everyone.

Jack and Delana moved to Grande Prairie in 2022 to be closer and enjoy time with family. He passed away with his family very close by his side.

Jack leaves behind his loving wife Delana, his daughters Jadia Wilson Likes and Desi (Dave) Whitley, grandsons Jaxon and Dane, brother Ralph (Cheryl), and two nieces: Tanya and Carrie.

Jack was a wonderful father and husband who always looked after his family first.

A private family every will take place at a later date.

Jack wished for worldly peace.
