Obituary For Jeremy Reid Standish

Jeremy Reid Standish died unexpectedly on Saturday February 11, 2023 at the Mazankowski Heart Institute in Edmonton, Alberta due to heart failure. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Jeremy was 43 years old and was born on December 15, 1979 in Bassano, Alberta. Jeremy is survived by his mother, Debbie Standish, father, Randy Standish, sister Joleen Kosowan (Brent) and partner Richard Beckley. He is also survived and missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandparents, and cousins, Sarah Lamoureux and Jonathan Gall. Jeremy spent his childhood in many different places as his father moved around for his job. His life began in Bassano, Alberta and around the age of 5 Jeremy moved to Lyleton, Manitoba, then to Carnduff, Saskatchewan for a short time, and finally to the Peace Country. This is when his family bought a small hobby farm. Jeremy loved horses and bought himself a young colt to raise and break. That colt gave him a run for his money. Jeremy graduated from Ridgevalley School in 1998. After high school he moved to Edmonton to pursue a career in hair and makeup. He always loved to spread his wings and moved for a short period of time to Vancouver, BC. When he returned to the peace country he started working as an Operator in the Oil and Gas industry with his father. Jeremy had the opportunity to go to Nova Scotia to work on a project involving natural gas. He returned to Western Canada ending up in Fort St. John, BC. continuing his career as an Oil and Gas Operator. Jeremy was always ambitious and looking for new and exciting opportunities. He left his career to pursue other opportunities that would be more fulfilling. Jeremy loved animals and always had a number of pets, and stray cats he would rescue from wherever. He is now running and playing with all of his pets who passed before him. He also had a heart for anyone in need or struggling.

We will miss Jeremy more than words can say, but we know he is resting in the hands of the Heavenly Father.

Jeremy came to visit me in Halifax a long time ago. The memories from that trip pop up often in my Facebook feed and we would often recount how much fun we had. Jeremy was adventurous and silly. He was kind and thoughtful. He was taken too soon. I'll miss your light in this world Jeremy. To Debbie and family, I know you are surrounded by love to get through this and wish your family strength.

Heartfelt sympathy and condolences to you Debbie and Jolene, in the loss of a son and a brother. I haven't seen Jeremy for a long while. (It's not long ago that I saw his name come across on Linkd'n.) I remember how, when we did see each other, he always had a great hug. I pray for each of you, the peace and comfort of our Father in Heaven, at this time and "forward", in your "journey of grief". .....hugs I hope to make it to the service, on Sat, at CFA. .
