Obituary For Kyle Matthew Brehmer

September 21, 1989 – October 15, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Kyle Matthew Brehmer on the morning of October 15, 2023, at the age of 34 years old. Kyle was a resident of Edmonton, Alberta.

From the day he was born on September 21, 1989, Kyle had an enormous heart and will be remembered as an entrepreneur with big dreams, who looked out for the underdogs, “Fresh for the ladies”, an athletic man, and was a fashionista until the day he passed.

He is survived by his daughter Isabella, and her sister Coby (Alison & Steve), mother Melody (Blaine), father Doug, sisters Alexa and Jessica (Brett), Grandparents Diane & Don, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends.

Kyle is predeceased by Baba & Gedo Hrushka, Baba & Gedo Uhyrn, Grandparents Arvin & Dorothy Brehmer, Papa John, and his cousin Blake.

Please join us at the Bear Creek Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 1:00 pm for Kyle’s Celebration of Life, honoring him and the memories that were made along the way.

A Beginning, Not End

Our journey together was brief,

Yet your footprint remains forever,

Stamped upon our hearts.

Though now your path lies elsewhere,

Your spirit lives on in memories,

We reassure always,

Filling the silence of your absence,

With echoes of your sweet soul.

We know in our hearts,

Our time together was just the beginning-

Your life is merely a prologue,

To the eternal story that continues.

So we release you now,

With love and blessing, my child & brother,

Honoring who you were,

In the short time, you walked this earth,

Carrying you within,

Forever in our soul

-Unknown

Kyle and I went to school as children and teenagers in Grande Prairie. He was charming and quick witted. I ran into him several times in Edmonton, both when he was doing well and not. Even in his darkest days, he was always quick to smile, crack a joke and offer a hug. I am heartbroken that he lost his battle.

Kyle was one of my best friends growing up. I will always cherish the many memories we had together. Always laughing and getting up to no good together. Rip buddy. See you again one day. - Mike Szakacs
