Obituary For Lucienne “Lucy” Blanche Bryzgorni

July 5, 1935 – October 2, 2023

Lucy Bryzgorni, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2023, at 88. She leaves behind a legacy of love and Faith.

Lucy was born in Robertsonville, QC. She was raised on a farm with four sisters and two brothers. The family traveled West to the Eaglesham area where they settled. In her teen years, Lucy attended a girls’ school in Falher and later joined the Convent, remained a Sister for twenty years before yearning for a family of her own. While there, Lucy honed her culinary skills, something she was very proud of. Later, she gained a trade in Hairdressing. After leaving, she moved to Grande Prairie where she met and fell in love with a tall, slim man with a full head of wavy dark brown hair. Together they embarked on a colorful journey, raising their two children on a farm in Sexsmith.

Lucy was a spirited and practical woman who loved to keep a tidy home and yard. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start businesses in cleaning and hairdressing, modeling to her children determination, perseverance, and work ethic. She was a Jill-of-all-trades, following in her father’s carpentry footsteps she would build and create, teaching herself as she went. She enjoyed making meals for family get-togethers and Lucy’s homemade bread buns were a coveted treat. She was also a skilled seamstress, making quilts and clothing. Lucy worked tirelessly to care for her family. Family always held a special place in her heart. She would think nothing of sacrificing her needs to give to her children, even when money was tight. She was loyal and devoted. The only thing she loved more than gardening and cooking were her grandchildren.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband Carl, her brothers Robert and Lucien, and her parents, Henri and Eva. She is survived by her son, Rene (Brooke) Bryzgorni, daughter Lisa (Darcy) Schlosser, Grandchildren, Kolton and Lane Schlosser, Mikayla and Emma Bryzgorni and sisters Jacqueline, Denise, Marie Paule, and Cecile.

A service will be held at Bear Creek Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10th at 2:00 pm. Interment to follow at the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
