Max was born June 21, 1927 on the family farm south of Bluesky. He passed away at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital May 4, 2022 at the age of 94.

Max was the 5th of 7 children born to Laura and Fredrick Lancaster. He attended Little Burnt school, Fairview High School, Vermillion Agricultural School and took automotives at what is now SAIT in Calgary.

Easter 1952, at his sister Rachel's home, he met Doris and immediately knew she was the one. They were married Sept. 20t h and settled in Calgary where they started their family. In 1959, Max was offered the elevator at Belloy (near Wanham) which he managed until 1964 when the family, now 4 daughters, moved to Grande Prairie. There the family grew to include a son. Max worked at the City of Grande Prairie. With 3 daughters married, Max, Doris and the 2 younger children moved to Calgary to manage rental properties for his brother Bill. Later he worked at schools and Doris nursed at
the Calgary General Hospital. They were active in their church, TOPS, Shaklee and delivered Tim Horton's day old donuts to Mustard Seed. Upon retiring they hosted International students, took aqua exercises and made visits to inmates in Drumheller. They still hear from some students. In 2006, Max and Doris returned to Grande Prairie to build at The Shores where many family gatherings were held. In 2012 they downsized to Emerald Gardens.
