Obituaries

With great sadness, the family of Patricia Raspberry announces her passing at the age of 86 on July 9th, , 2022.

Pat was born in Fairview to Bill and Bernice Somers of Worsley, which is where she grew up, riding horseback to school. She attended the University of Alberta and taught school throughout the North Peace region. Marrying Gerald in 1958, she devoted her energies to raising a family, beautifying their farm and perfecting every craft that came her way. Pat donated many hours to local organizations such as the Junior Forest Wardens and later worked for over 20 years as the Secretary/Treasurer of the local REA before retiring to Grande Prairie.

Although she lived her final years with neurological decline, her dry sense of humor never receded, and her questioning mind would still surface. The family would like to thank the loyal friends who kept her company as well as the staffs of the Grande Prairie Care Centre and Unit 23 of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Pat is predeceased by her husband Gerald and sisters Joyce & Jean. She is terribly missed by her brother Roy (Jo), her children Karyn, Jo & Craig, her four grandchildren Jordan, Damaris, Coltin (Ashley), & Gage and two great-grandchildren Benjamin & Harlow.

A tribute to Pat will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 1pm in the Fairview Legion Hall (10315 110 Street in Fairview, Alberta) followed by refreshments.
