Obituary For Sandra James-Dietzen

The family of Sandra James -Dietzen sadly announce that she passed away on August 6th, 2023 at her home in Grande Prairie.

Sandra was a devoted mother and a loving wife. Her family was everything to her, always. She was born in Calgary and moved to Grande Prairie 35 years ago where she worked at Zellers for 25 years and then Wally’s Mini Mart for 10 years. Her dedication to work was outstanding.

Sandra loved all family activities including camping, Show and Shine car shows, watching Donavan grow up playing baseball, and graduation. She loved to read and had a special smile for everyone. She never complained to anyone, and her strength through her illness was remarkable. She will be missed and always loved.

She is survived by her husband, David Dietzen, and her son Donovan Dietzen.

In lieu of flowers, David and Donovan request donations be made to the local Canadian Diabetes Association 10001 101 Avenue Grande Prairie AB T8V 0X9.

I'm so sorry to see this. I remember Sandra from her days at the prairie mall and Zellers where I saw her almost every day. Sandra always had a quick mind and was very funny at work, she always had a smile or a quick hello for me, and knew my order at the skillet restaurant off by hand. She and her husband David were good friends to us all at our store next to Zellers and everyone knew each other well over time spent there at the mall. Those were the halcyon days of retail and us young adults growing up in the 80's there. She was a person you could kid around with and I'm sure her husband David and son Donovan will be missing her already. Parker & Kim Shultz
