Obituary For Scott Higgins

June 4, 1972 – October 22, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we mournfully announce the passing of Scott Higgins who went to be with his Savior on October 22, 2023 at the age of 51 years.

Scott Higgins was a force to be reckoned with. Even with a long two year battle with cancer, his death was unexpected to those who were with him the day before.

As far as his lifetime achievements he loved his family fiercely and still has numerous beloved friends and many special ones as an adult. If something wasn’t up to par, he’d fix it. He loved his sports as a child, fixing cars and smashing them up as a teen, hunting and guiding and working as a heavy duty mechanic as an adult. Motorcycles, fast cars and a good deal were his passions. He had a smile and a laugh that filled any room. Scott’s life was cut way too short, but he went peacefully with his sister Sandy by his side. He loved his family and friends with every ounce of his being and is just truly missed.

Scott is survived by his brother Rick (Jean) Meaghers Grant, sisters Anna-Marie (Dale) Elmsvale, Sandy (Tim) Middle Musquodoboit, many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and most of all, friends. He is also survived by his spouse Treena, step-daughters Amy, and Jessica (Bryan) and grandchildren Rylan, Lucas Mckenna.

He was predeceased by his father, Eugene and mother Dorothy, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

A Gathering of Friends to share food, drinks and good stories will take place on November 11, 2023 at 4pm.Scott and Treena’s house

A Celebration of Life will take place on May 25th at Craig and Kathy’s in Ft. St. John, BC (Time to be announced later).

To all Scott's friends and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Each time I had seen Scott over the years he was full of smiles and hugs! I am grateful to have received both from him in August at Craig and Kathy's wedding. Rest easy Scott 💔

I knew Scott as a child and I remember his contagious laugh. I hadn't seen him in many years and was at the grocery store in Fort Nelson, BC and who did I find ahead of me in the line Scott. He talked and laughed like I'd seen him The day before. He was a special person and those he was close to will miss him dearly. Hugs to the family and friends....RIP Scottie💔

My deepest condolences to Scott Higgins family and friends. I live in Grande Prairie and after consulting with Murray Higgins, I have discovered that we are related. My father, Malcolm Miller was from Middle Middle Musquodoboit. Murray spoke fondly of him. I would love to meet with the family, if possible. Rest in Peace, Scott
