January 21, 1995 – January 12, 2023

It is with broken hearts we mournfully announce the passing of Shakona Mineault-Lafferty, a resident of Grande Prairie, on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 27 years old.

Shakona was born on January 21, 1995 at the QEII hospital in Grande Prairie. She grew up, for the most part, in Grande Prairie but also spent some childhood years in Dawson Creek, B.C. Shakona graduated high school from the Bridge Network in 2017 and went on to obtain her Office Administration certificate through ACCDATA.

Shakona is survived by her precious boys Giovanni and Tony Campagna, Mom Raven Mineault, Dad Kirby Lafferty, Brothers Tristan and Deejay, Sisters Arianna and Daeylnn, Papa Ron and Kohkum Marlene Lafferty, Kohkum Verna Cardinal, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends and family friends who became Aunties and Uncles.

Shakona was predeceased by her Capan Elizabeth Greyeyes Papa Noel Mineault, Brother Remembrance Lafferty, Uncle Curtis Cardinal, Aunty Sherry Cardinal, and Cousin Curtis Cardinal.

Celebration of Life will take place on: Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:30am at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie.
