It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shanea Kachmarski-Laliberte at the age of 31 years.

Shanea AKA Shorty was born to Wilfred Laliberte and Marian Kachmarski-Laliberte on January 27, 1992 in North Battleford, SK. In 1997 she moved to Grande Prairie, AB with her parents and older brother Brett. A few years later they welcomed her younger sister Jordanna, who Shanea loved dearly. Shanea attended school at St Mary’s Catholic School in Sexsmith and later attended Grande Prairie Composite High School. As a little girl Shanea played soccer and also gave baseball a try! She always had a love for camping and going to the lake. She loved to swim and to sit around the campfire at the end of the day. Shopping was another one of her favorite ways to spend time! She had a love for animals and they loved her just as much, especially her dog Diego. Shanea treasured spending time with her family and friends, she shared a very special bond with her Aunty Rita.

Shanea is survived by her father Wilfred Laliberte, mother Marian Kachmarski-Laliberte, brother Brett (Megan) Kachmarski, sister Jordanna (Josh Randell) Kachmarski-Laliberte, nephews Jase Kachmarski and Hayden Kachmarski, niece Emma Kachmarski and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Shanea is pre-deceased by her great-grandparents Fred and Alphonsine Laliberte, her grandparents Victor Laliberte, Leta Laliberte and Joseph and Helen Kachmarski, Aunt Rita Arnault and Cousin Wendy Arnault.

Shanea’s Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Clairmont Curling Rink (9819 100 Avenue, Clairmont) at 3:30pm.
