Obituary For Sharon Elizabeth Coleman

Sharon died peacefully in her sleep at home in Beaverlodge, Alberta. She was in her 67th year and had been living in Alberta since 2003 with her long-time companion David (Davie) Boyte. She was born in London, ON, to Shirley Irene (Hockin) (2019) and John (Jack) McKenna Coleman (2007). She leaves behind her daughter Carmen Rose (Penticton, BC) and her son Sean Rose (Burnaby, BC). She will be truly missed by her grandchildren Kayden, Brailynn, Jace, and Weston, as well as her sister Linda Mesheau of Sackville, NB, her brother David (Anne Wilson) of London, ON, a number of nieces and nephews, and her many beloved pets.Sharon attended London Central Secondary School and graduated in 1974. She then followed her love of the arts through pottery and photography studies at London's H.B. Beal Secondary School. These were the arts that she then practiced with dedication throughout her life. Sharon was an awesome cook. She loved growing her own food, gardening, the ocean, the outdoors – and being free of the big city. Air travel was not in her repertoire; so her many adventures included road trips back to the big city in Ontario to visit family and friends. A Pisces to the bone, Sharon was drawn to the ocean and the water – not surprising, after so many summers on the shores of Ontario’s Lake Huron. Sharon absolutely loved the Sunshine Coast of BC. It was there that she met Davie after having raised her family on the lower mainland.Sharon was a force of nature. Her family and many friends loved her bright character and sense of humour. (“Hey! No one moves, no one gets hurt!”). They will miss her.Cremation has taken place (Bear Creek Funeral Home, Grande Prairie, AB). A private service for close family will be held at a later date. In Sharon's memory, please consider a donation to one of her favourite charities: The Canadian Wildlife Federation, or a local animal shelter. Sharon would love that (links available at the left under her photo).Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742 bearcreekfuneral.com
