Dec 22, 1967 – April 13th, 2022It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved husband, son, and brother Shawn.Shawn Willard Daly, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022, in his wife’s loving arms, after a difficult battle with chronic kidney disease, at the age of 54.Shawn was born in Edmonton on December 22, 1967 and would become the second youngest of 4 siblings. Shawn grew up in Spirit River, Alberta. From a very young age, Shawn excelled in sports. He was also active in Ukrainian dancing, performing before many audiences, including Queen Elizabeth during a royal visit. A very active and social child, Shawn made many lifelong friendships. Growing up in a small Northern Alberta community offered Shawn and his companions the freedom to partake in many outdoor activities and adventures. Cycling and powersports were a common activity after school and on weekends. After graduating from the Spirit River Secondary School, Shawn moved to Grande Prairie, where he began what would be a long career, working in Alberta’s energy sector. There, Shawn met Sherri Jordison, who became his co-adventurer and the love of his life. Together, Shawn & Sherri spent much of their spare time camping, fishing, travelling, and exploring new places. Shawn had a fondness for canines, greatly enjoying the company of his little pals ‘Harley’ and ‘Blacky’.Shawn will be sadly missed by his wife Sherri (nee Jordison) Daly, father Earl (Bill) Daly, father-in-law Earl Jordison, sister Carol (Frank) Drasak, brother Brice (Loretta) Daly, sister Sharon (Chris) Checkel, brother-in-law Barry (Ericka) Jordison, brother-in-law Lee (Roux) Jordison, his nieces and nephews David, Amy, Michelle, Ryan, Matthew, Robin, Noah, as well as numerous other family & friends.Shawn was predeceased by his mother Gail Daly, his mother-in-law Theresa Jordison, brother-in-law Allan Jordison, and nephew Max Drasak.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at which time his ashes will be laid to rest in the Spirit River cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780 830 7742 bearcreekfuneral.com
