Obituary For Tina Wardrobe

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Tina Ann Wardrobe (Dettling). On July 27, 2021 Tina went to be with her Saviour in Heaven, at the age of 57. She fought a long battle with cancer after being diagnosed in Spring of 2019.

She will be forever remembered by her children Amy (Dylan), David (Morgan), Jodie (Tanner), Michael (Kiran) and grandchild, Sawyer. And also lovingly remembered by her mother Lila (Fred), siblings; Tammy (Blaine), Liz (Danny), Alan (Melissa), Marty, Lori (Rick), Doug (Brenda) and David. She will be embraced in the arms of the predeceased by her Father Andy, Step-Father Donny, and Step Brother David. Tina will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 6th at 1:00pm, at People’s Church, 11850 108 Street, Grande Prairie with Pastor Patrick Karuhije officiating. Tina never understood or liked wearing all black at funerals, we would encourage those who want to attend to dress in fun bright colours to light up the room just as she did herself. All are welcomed.

One of her dreams was to re-open the donation/fundraiser (Toonies to Touch Hearts) she started on her 50th birthday to raise money in support for the homeless in Grande Prairie. We would like to honour this by asking donations to be made to the Saint Lawrence Centre, Box 21331 Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7.

  • We had the honor and priviledge of knowing Tina for many years and shared many happy memories with Tina. She was an incredible person. Beautiful inside and out. I could go on about her attributes. But the two that stand out was how kind and loving she was. We are so sorry for your loss. Heaven grew even sweeter with her entrance. She loved the Lord with all her heart. And her life truly exemplified Christ! Love, thoughts and prayers Keith and Penny Hamer

  • To Tina's family, I only met her in person a few times (through her nephew, Bren) but she left an incredible impression immediately of sheer joy, kindness, laughter, optimism and fun! She spoke non stop of her pride in her ENTIRE family, expressing her recognition and admiration of each family member's talents and gifts, their reason for existing, their contribution to making this world a better place. I know each of you have spent a great deal of time through these past years letting her know what a great contribution SHE was to this world. The empty place her absence leaves in your hearts will forever be a hollow echo in the mist. May you listen to that echo and fill that hollow with love for others that she resonated with, friend and stranger alike. Her short time walking this Earth with us made a bigger impact than many people could ever hope to make in twice the time. She lived! May we all take a page from her book and live just as fervently. Our hearts and prayers are with you all 💕 ~ Crystal Oliver

  • Tina is a very special person. She always dreamed big, whether it was renovating her house on her own or fighting for what she believed in. Tina has the biggest heart. She adores her children. We spent long conversations worrying about the teenagers and if they would be alright - and through it all she really just loves loves LOVES them, and of course they turned out awesome. They are no longer teenagers and she was so proud of them. Tina is so thoughtful. She would go out of her way to bring meals to people who she thought just needed a little extra help. She never asked for anything in return. Her gifts were really that - her gift to you to keep. Tina had the best story about the difference between God's Mercy and God's Grace. I wish I would have recorded her telling it. I wish I had known that our last visit was our last. No time ever seemed to have passed when we got together, it always felt like a reunion of dearest friends. Tina never judged. She always listened and gave thoughtful answers that never betrayed her faith or her beliefs. She was honest and kind and warm and everything wonderful. I am so sad for her to have left so soon.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Hugs from Marge McDermott
