Obituary For Titus Joseph Nunes

April 27, 1945 - March 02, 2023

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Titus Joseph Nunes. He passed away peacefully, after a fighting a valiant battle, with many health issues and is now finally resting in peace with his Creator, family and friends.

Titus was born in Karachi, Pakistan on April 27, 1945. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School, and then went on to join the Merchant Navy at the age of 16 years. He always told us that he fulfilled his passion to travel the world, with the bonus of being paid to do so. His greatest love was music, movies and his family.

He was a self-taught guitarist, and vocalist, joined many bands at a young age. The last two being the "In Crowds" and "Familiar Faces". He worked for a few years in the UAE, but the highlight was the weekends & holidays playing in a band at the Holiday Inn.

Titus loved the outdoors and people. You would often find him spending weekends on the beach, or deep sea fishing. He loved having people over, and our home was always open to his friends, especially on the weekend when they would come over and play "hundi" the entire day. He never really got an opportunity to "fish" in Canada, apart from the time we went to Atlin, that was a trip he loved, as he got to see bears in the wild, and to fish, and the time we went to Hollywood, when he got to see the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars were held.

Titus was blessed with many talents, whatever he undertook he exceled at, designing our home in Karachi, carving and painting decorative items, gardening, cooking and so much more. He always told me, if you are doing something, do it right or don't do it at all. He was also generous to a fault. If anyone told him they liked something he would say take it. Titus lived a very full life, especially in Karachi-Pakistan. He was always out and about, being the social animal he was. He decided to come to Canada to give his children even more opportunities to grow. Unfortunately, after a stoke in 2005, he was never able to lead a full life. He continued to add to his collection of movies & music, but was unable to play the guitar or sing. Till the very end, he was a fighter, his mind worked perfectly, but his body was just too tired of fighting.

Titus will be forever missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Charlotte, and his children, Nicole & Randolph. Brother Leo, and Sisters Alba & Maria and many nieces, nephews and friends. We wish he could have stayed to see his grandchild, but knowing him, he will be a "helicopter" granddad.

Titus was predeceased by his parents Lawrence & Sebastian a Nunes, and brothers, Lucas & Peter and Brother-in-Law Robert and Sister-in-Law Mabel.

A Prayer Service and Viewing for Titus will be held on Wednesday March 8 from 4:30 - 5:30 at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue Grande Prairie.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 10404 102 Street Grande Prairie with a luncheon to follow at Bear Creek Funeral Home. For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking the link below.

Titus was a generous and giving individual, full of life and energy. I have many fond memories of playing with Titus and his brothers, while his sisters watched us in D'Cruz Lane. I am sure that he is happy playing his guitar and serenading the angels in his new surroundings. Benny, an old neighbor.
