It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward (Tom) Morrison of Grande Cache, Alberta. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 in Grande Cache, AB at the Grande Cache Community Health Complex.
Tom was born in Sidney Mines to parents John David Morrison and Hattie McGean on September 11th, 1948. He moved to Grande Cache in 1971 where he was a certified electrician and worked at Foothills Forestry, Grande Cache Coal Mine and Days Inn and Suites. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing darts, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family. Tom was also a member of the local Royal Canadian Legion and the Tail Gunner of Grande Cache Chapter Chozen Breed Motorcycle Riding Club.
Tomis survived by his loving wife Irene Morrison of Grande Cache, AB.; his Children Tommy (Annette), Denise (Justin), Carrie (Jason); his stepchildren Trina (Jordan), Travis (Vanessa); his grandchildren Chelsie (Jason), Cayla (Ryan), Celiah, Jonathon, Kaiden, Zander, Brooklyn, TJ, Brayden, Kenzie, Easton and Kypton; his great grandchildren Pearl, Keegan, Kamrie and Carter and his siblings Donelda (Phil), Rosemarie (Greg), Anne (Mike), Neil (Penny), Donald (Jacquie) and Patrick.
He is preceded in death by his first loving wife Dianne, his parents John and Hattie, his sister Jeanie (Kevin) and his son in-law John.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the family, friends and to all community members and organizations for all of their prayers and support.
A Celebration of Life for Tom will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion, 2400Pine Plaza, Grande Cache, on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019at1:00 pm with Pastor Brian Fullerofficiating. A social time with the family will follow the service.
